Fabulous Fontina!

You should really consider crossing off the pizza and adding this dish to your menu planner this week! It's fabulous Fontina Mac & Cheese! This southern comfort dish is creamy with a light crunchy coat, fancying up a traditional family food. The combination of it's texture is so scrumptious! I complimented this with fresh sweet corn. This was the first time I made it-- earns a blue ribbon for sure!

Now, save the recipe and make this as soon as you can!

Fontina Mac & Cheese

1 pound medium pasta shells
5 tbsp butter/margarine
1 cup heavy cream
8 oz Fontina cheese, shredded
1/3 cup bread crumbs
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated (I forgot to add this, so we sprinkled the shaker on the top once it was on our plates. Tasted great!)

Preheat oven to 400 F. Boil shells in salted water.

Meanwhile, add 4 tbsp of butter (cut into 4 pieces) in a large bowl. Warm the cream in the microwave, keep warm.

Once the shells are cooked, drain. The add to the bowl with butter. Stir to melt the butter then add the cream and cheese. Stir until the cheese starts to melt.

Transfer pasta mixture to a baking dish, lightly sprayed with cooking spray. Melt remaining tbsp of butter in a small bowl in the microwave, then add bread crumbs and Parmesan cheese to the melted butter. Stir to coat the melted butter. Sprinkle over the pasta.

Bake for 20 minutes. Enjoy!

PS. This is another recipe I printed out a while ago and didn't make note of who it belongs to. If it's yours, comment below so I can praise you!

Nice dish - is there any way you'd consider adding the nutritional content to your recipes? I'd really like to try some of them, but was hesitant because some sounded heavy in calories...
